Sirius Project is a collection of resources for people who self-harm and their friends and families. We provide information on self-harm and related issues, some advice on how to stop self-harming, details of useful organisations in the UK and internationally, and forums and a chat room where you can give and receive support. The focus here is very much on things you can do to help yourself. That doesn’t mean going it alone without appropriate professional help; it means taking action yourself to get the help that you need.

The site has just been updated to include details of free online CBT and DBT programmes and an article on using omega-3 fish oils to treat depression and mood swings. Our page for friends and family now has a much more comprehensive list of resources.

Living with Scars has been moved to the “Staying Safe” section. This might not be entirely logical, but treating and preventing scars does seem to tie in with the concepts of first aid and harm reduction!
